About City Clinic Plymouth
Dr. Yasir Rahman & Rubina Ali

21 Milehouse Road, Plymouth PL3 4AD
Dr. Yasir Rahman and Rubina Ali are the driving force behind a trifecta of healthcare businesses. All three are committed to improving lives through innovative, pragmatic healthcare solutions that make a real difference.
Together, they bring a wealth of experience spanning frontline clinical care, healthcare leadership, entrepreneurship and health technology. Dr. Yasir Rahman is a Consultant Occupational Health Doctor, Co-Founder and CEO of Drive2Medicals, and Co-Founder and COO of The Care App. Rubina Ali has a clinical background in Clinical Physiology. She is Co-Founder and Healthcare Director of Drive2Medicals, and Co-Founder and CTO of The Care App. Together, they combine clinical expertise with first-hand experience of building, leading and innovating across healthcare services.
City Clinic Plymouth itself has a history spanning more than two decades. The clinic was originally established and opened in 2004 by Dr. Akhlaque Rahman as City Chiropractic Clinic, where he built and ran the practice until his retirement in 2022. Today, the clinic has been re-established under new ownership by his son, Dr. Yasir Rahman, and daughter-in-law, Rubina Ali, continuing a family healthcare legacy that began over 20 years ago.
For Yasir and Rubina, City Clinic Plymouth is more than just another venture, it’s a homecoming.
They believe that exceptional healthcare starts with exceptional people.
Their vision is to solidify and continue City Clinic Plymouth as one of the region’s leading multidisciplinary healthcare centres. They are building on its proud legacy while embracing innovation, collaboration and the highest standards of clinical excellence, for generations to come.
“We wanted to bring City Clinic Plymouth back to its golden roots. The clinic was originally established by our father and father-in-law in 2004 before he sadly retired due to ill health. Having grown up around the clinic, we felt privileged to continue its story. Our ambition is not only to restore what made the clinic so special, but to take it further than it has ever been before.”
“The clinic is only as good as the people within it, and we are incredibly proud to have a growing team of talented practitioners from a wide range of healthcare backgrounds who share our commitment to delivering outstanding care and an exceptional patient experience.”
Welcome to City Clinic Plymouth. We look forward to being part of your healthcare journey.
Chiropractic is a regulated, non-invasive and natural healthcare profession. It focuses on the function of the whole muscular and skeletal system, not just the spine, and how that affects health.
Chiropractors are qualified health professionals who have completed a four or five year full-time training. They can assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, including back and neck pain, sciatica, and symptoms such as numbness or tingling in the arms and hands.
Before starting treatment, your chiropractor will assess your symptoms. This shows whether chiropractic treatment is right for you and your condition, and which techniques are most likely to help. Chiropractors are trained to recognise when chiropractic treatment may not be appropriate. If it is not, they will refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional.
Physiotherapy is a regulated health profession. It helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness, or disability. Physiotherapists use physical approaches like movement, exercises, manual therapy, and patient education. These approaches help to manage pain, speed up recovery, and improve overall quality of life.
Each care plan will be based on the patient's specific needs and will commonly include:
Bowen therapy is a soft, alternative touch therapy. It uses gentle rolling thumb and finger movements over muscles, tendons and fascia. Treatment may include short pauses of a few minutes between steps so the nervous system can process the input.
Bowen therapy can help support:
Podiatry is a professional branch of healthcare dealing with the foot, ankle, and leg.
Podiatrists can treat a wide range of conditions, from foot pain to complex issues such as sports injuries, complications of diabetes, and surgical needs, as well as everyday nail and foot care.
Our beauty therapy prides itself on offering 100% cruelty-free treatments. It specialises in permanent hair removal, skin care, skin health and beauty therapy. Everything takes place in the calming and comforting environment of a spa. The hygiene and safety are those of a medical clinic.
